Cozy Cabin Retreat Reflections: Why Retreating is Powerful!

A few weeks ago, I hosted my Cozy Cabin Retreat — a weekend yoga & well-being retreat for women. It was everything I hoped it would be: cozy, nourishing, and deeply restorative. We practiced yoga, gathered for workshops, shared meals, and enjoyed the fresh air and mountain views.

As a well-being practitioner, I bring a lot of creativity into the work I do. I love designing inspiring experiences and creating spaces that feel warm and inviting.

Seeing this retreat come to life was incredibly rewarding. But beyond the atmosphere and the experience itself, what really stays with me is the impact. The feedback I received captured exactly why retreating is so powerful.

In this blog, I’m reflectnig on the 4 main themes that came up in the retreat attendees feedback.

1. The Easte of Being Taken Care Of

One thing I heard again and again was how deeply people were able to relax because everything was taken care of. One person described it as “being on a weekend trip with friends, but without having to plan a thing.”

That’s the beauty of retreating. You don’t have to think about schedules, meals, or logistics. You just show up and let yourself be taken care of. And for so many of us, that’s a rare and needed gift.

2. Time to Simply Be

Another thing that stood out was how much people appreciated the slow, spacious rhythm of the weekend. After each yoga session, there was time to just be. To sit quietly, look out at the view, or take an unhurried shavasana. No rush, no next thing to get to.

One of my favorite moments was serving everyone hot chocolate after an afternoon yoga practice. The room was quiet, lit by candlelight, and everyone just sat there, savoring the warmth, staring out at the blue hour sky. It was simple, but it felt very special.

3. A Supportive Space, A Special Connection

One of the most powerful aspects of a retreat isn’t just the location or the practices; it’s the group itself. When a retreat is well-facilitated, it creates a space where people feel safe to relax, open up, and simply be themselves. That’s something I’m always intentional about. I put a lot of thought into curating an environment where trust builds naturally, where conversations flow easily, and where a sense of community forms.

There’s something special about being in a room full of people who are all there for a similar reason — to step away from daily life, to reconnect with themselves, to rest. In that shared experience, there’s an unspoken understanding. Whether it’s deep conversations over dinner or a quiet moment of presence side by side, the connection that forms within a retreat is something truly unique.

4. A Retreat That Keeps Giving

One of the women on my Cozy Cabin Retreat had also attended my Yoga & Well-Being Retreat in Greece retreat a few years ago. She told me how much had shifted in her life since then. How that experience had planted seeds for change that she was now fully stepping into.

This is the real power of a retreat, in my opinion. The experience itself is beautiful, yes, but what truly matters is what you take home with you. The shifts, the insights, the new ways of being that unfold long after you’ve packed your bags.

⬇️ These were some of the feedback I received that I based these reflections on.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to invite you to my next retreat! September 3-9, 2025, I’m hosting my Yoga & Well-Being Retreat in Greece for the 3rd time, and I can’t wait!
