Get Started with Journaling + Steal my Weekly Journaling Practice!

I first started exploring various journaling practices in my early 20s, while being a psych student. During my studies, I read several research papers about the well-being benefits of various journaling practices.

I learned that journaling can reduce stress, boost creativity and inspiration, and incresase self-awarness, along with a long list of other benefits. And this got me courious to explore journaling for myself!

I soon found journaling to be a really helpful tool to organize my thoughts and emotions. I think that the illustration below perfectly shows the effect of journaling on my mental state! ⬇️

Today, journaling is my go-to tool for self-coaching. I use a stream-of-consciousness style of journaling to help me navigate challenges or overwhelming situations. I find that journaling about my stressful experiences helps me organize my thoughts and get clarity. And I feel “lighter” and calmer afterwards.

I also use journaling to savor and extend joyful and meaningful experiences! Journaling about positive experiences is kind of like putting a flashlight towards the good stuff in your life. And over time, this can help us reduce the impact of our inherent negativity bias

This inspired me to develop a consistent journaling practice to appreciate the positive stuff in my life. After several years of exploring various journaling prompts and methods, I have designed my own weekly practice. And I would like to give you the “recipie” of my practice as a gift! These 3 simple, yet powerful journaling questions are designed to spark joy, give you a sense of meaning and gratitude, plus boost your confidence!

I invite you to test this practice for a few weeks (or even months!) and notice how you feel. I personally like to set aside some time for journaling before bedtime on Sunday evenings. To me, that feels like the natural “completion” of my week. But the timing of this practice is completely flexible. You can explore and find the day and time that feels best for you!

The PDF also includes a list with “Journaling Essentials” - my best tips & tricks for journaling! I encourage you to read this list, especially if you're new to journaling. And I invite you to keep these tips in mind as you explore this practice.

And please remember that your journaling entries does not have to look in any particular way. It's OK to be messy! My personal entries are often very messy and often incohesive. And that's perfectly OK. What's important is that these journaling questions help you reflect and shift your focus.

Any comments or questions? My email inbox and instagram DMs are open, as always! I really enjoy connecting with you 🥰
